THE FINE PRINT, PLAINLY
Terms of service.
How estimates, contracts, and project work are handled. Read it before you sign anything — and ask questions.
Scope of services
3rd Gen General Contracting provides residential remodeling, additions, decks, siding, roofing, and kitchen and bathroom remodeling in Toms River and Ocean County, New Jersey. The scope of work for any project is defined in the written estimate and contract agreed to by both parties.
Estimates are not binding quotes
A free on-site estimate is an informed assessment, not a binding contract price. The final price is set in the written contract after the scope, materials, and site conditions are confirmed. Conditions that could not be seen before work begins — for example, hidden damage behind a wall — may affect the final cost and are documented in writing before the work changes.
Payment and deposit terms
Payment terms, including any deposit and a milestone schedule, are stated in the written contract. Deposits and progress payments are applied to your project and are not refundable except as described in the contract or as required by New Jersey law.
Change orders
Any change to the agreed scope is handled through a written change order that states the work and the price before the work changes. No work outside the original scope is performed without your written approval.
Cancellation
You may cancel a project according to the cancellation terms in your contract and applicable New Jersey law. Cancellation after work or materials have begun may carry costs for work already performed or materials already ordered.
Limitation of liability
3rd Gen General Contracting’s liability is limited to the scope and value of the work performed under the written contract. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages beyond that scope.
Governing law
These terms and any contract with 3rd Gen General Contracting are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Disputes are resolved in the appropriate New Jersey jurisdiction.
